BMHA volunteers are required to attend specific clinics depending on the role that they will play within the association.
To assist our volunteers in locating clinics, we have listed a number of clinics being offered within our region.
It will be up to you to contact the association hosting the clinic in order to register yourself.
Participants registered with the Blackburn Minor Hockey Association will have their clinic costs paid for by the association upon providing a copy of receipt for the clinic taken.
Please contact our director of Ways & Means for details on getting reimbursed for clinics.
Speak Out Clinics
Speak Out clinics are mandatory for all team officials that deal directly with the kids (coaches, managers, trainers) as well as all BMHA board members.
This clinic is very informative and helps parents and volunteers put the proper perspective on this great game we call hockey.

BMHA Trainers with expired certificates: alternative for renewal!
If you hold an expired Trainer Certificate, and if you hold a current CPR /First Aid qualification, there is an alternative to attending a 2-day clinic all over again.
Your trainer card can be renewed by sending your expired trainer card and evidence (photocopy) of your current CPR and First Aid certificate, plus a cheque for $10, to the O.D.H.A. The $10 fee will be reimbursed by the BMHA.
Trainers should submit their receipt to Vice-President - Finance for reimbursement.
Your certificate will be renewed up to the expiry of your CPR/First Aid, and then you as a trainer must renew again in the same manner as the new expiry date approaches.
Here are the documents needed :
- your original expired trainer certificate;
- a copy of your current First Aid and CPR certificate. You need BOTH. A basic first aid qualification without CPR does not qualify;
- a check for $10 made payable to the O.D.H.A. (not to the ODMHA please );
- include your return address
